Laura Gil and Mallory Nolte Earn CACC All-Academic for Women’s Tennis

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Concluding their 2019 fall season, the Wilmington University tennis team earned two-student athletes on the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team.

Senior Laura Gil, along with junior Mallory Nolte both earned a spot on the All-Academic team for the second time throughout their careers. Gil and Nolte were two out of 21 honorees that represent eight of the 10 schools in the CACC.

Gil earned a 3.70 cumulative grade point average while majoring in Communications-Media, while Nolte earned a 3.87 in Digital and Motion Graphics at Wilmington.

Laura Gil finished out the season with a 7-4 overall record in No. 1 and 2 singles, while finishing with a 4-6 overall record in No. 1 doubles. Mallory Nolte finished out the season with an overall record of 4-6 with teammate Andrea Ribalta in No. 2 doubles.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
