Volleyball Leads CACC With Seven Named to 2020-21 CACC All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Fifty-seven (57) student-athletes on Monday were named to the 2020-21 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 57 honorees represent all 14 CACC member institutions that have a varsity program in the sport.

The Wilmington University volleyball team led all 14 programs with seven student-athletes named All-Academic. The Wildcats were led by three-time honoree Mandy Behiels (3.94 GPA in psychology) and two-time honoree Angel Oliver (3.69 GPA in communications). Senior Caroline Wise, as well we sophomores Elly Collins, Dorie Moore, Grace Morton, and Riane Nickerson also made the list for carrying a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher in at least their second year at Wilmington.

Wilmington University led the way with seven honorees, including Grace Morton's team-best 3.97 cumulative grade point average in her major of accounting. Six programs followed with five honorees apiece, including Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia College, Goldey-Beacom College, University of the Sciences, and Thomas Jefferson University. 

Holy Family University, which claimed the 2020-21 CACC Women's Volleyball Championship in the spring followed with four student-athletes who achieved all-academic status.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Fifteen of the honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Twelve of the honorees made the CACC Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team for the second time.
  • Eleven of the honorees made the All-Academic squad for the third time.
