NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Wilmington University volleyball team is predicted to finish fourth in the South Division according to the 13 head coaches who voted on the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

The Wildcats earned 53 total points in the 2021 CACC Preseason Coaches Poll, finishing one point behind Thomas Jefferson and in fourth place.

The Wildcats haven't played since 2019, when they went 20-14 overall and 12-7 in the CACC, tied for third in the South Division. Their seasons begins on Friday, September 3 at the Molloy College Invitational. When they play on that Friday, it will be 654 days since they last played a countable match.

Holy Family, winners of the 2021 Spring CACC Tournament and runners-up in 2019, earned nine first place votes and 81 total points to top the South Division. Georgian Court, winners of the 2019 CACC Tournament and runners-up of the 2021 Spring CACC Tournament, picked up the other four first place votes for 76 total points. Thomas Jefferson (54 points) and Wilmington (53 points) round out the predicted postseason participants from the South Division in 2021.

Chestnut Hill earned 38 points for fifth in the South followed by USciences (36 points) and Goldey-Beacom (19 points).

Felician captured the North Division with 60 points and five first place votes. Post earned five first place votes and 56 total points for second followed closely by Caldwell's two first place votes and 55 total points. Bloomfield earned the final first place vote in the North and collected 38 total points to round out the predicted postseason participants in 2021.

Nyack earned 31 points for fifth followed by Dominican's 27 points to round out the North Division.

The 2021 CACC Tournament begins on Tuesday, November 16, with the semifinals and championship on Saturday-Sunday, November 20-21, at Georgian Court in Lakewood, N.J.
