Angel Oliver, Mandy Behiels, and Heather Pedrick Earn Spots on CACC Volleyball All-Conference Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - A trio of Wilmington University volleyball players were voted to the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Conference Teams on Tuesday, as voted on by the league's 13 head coaches.

The Wildcats placed three on All-Conference, led by Angel Oliver who was voted as a First Team Middle Hitter. Mandy Behiels and Heather Pedrick were voted as Second Team Outside Hitters, in leading the Wildcats to a 20-12 regular season record and the South Division's No. 2 seed in the CACC Tournament with a 14-4 CACC mark.

Angel Oliver (Jersey City, N.J.) has been dominant at the net all season long, leading all of NCAA Division II now with 170 total blocks on the year. She is averaging 1.42 blocks per set on the year, accumulating 39 solo blocks and 170 total blocks through the First Round of the CACC Tournament. She also leads the Wildcats with a .257 attack percentage on the season, putting down 238 kills with only 92 errors on 568 attempts. Her 363.5 points on the year ranks ninth best in the CACC, the best among middles in the league.

Mandy Behiels (Edmonton, Alberta) earns a spot on the All-CACC teams for the third time in her career, being named Second Team as a sophomore and First Team as a junior. She leads the Wildcats with 331 kills, averaging 2.78 kills per set which ranks 12th in the CACC. But the all-around player also gets it done defensively, ranking 13th in the CACC with 368 digs on the year (3.09 per set). She has 16 double-doubles on the year, including a season high 20 kills against Le Moyne and a season high 23 digs against Goldey-Beacom.

Heather Pedrick (High Springs, Fla.) is second in all of NCAA DII with nine triple-doubles, playing all-around as a right-side hitter and setter. She ranks eighth in the CACC with 292 kills, putting down a team second best 2.43 per set. She also has the eighth most assists on the year with 540, dishing out 4.50 helpers per set. Pedrick also ranks 10th in the league with 398 digs, picking up 3.32 digs per set. She also has 81 total blocks on the year and is third in all of NCAA DII with 61 aces on the year, averaging 0.51 per set.

Holy Family setter Morgan Silks was anmed the CACC Player of the Year while Jefferson's outside Jess Molen was named the CACC Rookie of the Year. by virtue of being voted First Team Libero, Nyack's British Dawson was voted the CACC Defensive Player of the Year while Silks also picked up the CACC Setter of the Year award as well. The Tigers' head coach Colin Sibilia was voted as the CACC Coach of the Year by the league's sports information directors and Nyack earned the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award.

The Wildcats defeated Post on Tuesday night to advance to the CACC Tournament Semifinals this weekend at Georgian Court in Lakewood, New Jersey. The Wildcats will play the North Division regular season champions from Bloomfield in the Semifinal on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
