NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has announced its 2017 Fall All-Academic Teams and 16 Wilmington University student-athletes have earned a spot on the team for their respective sports.
Men's soccer and women's cross country led all Wildcat teams with four members each, followed by volleyball (3), women's soccer (2), men's cross country (2), and women's tennis (1).
In total, the CACC named 253 total student-athletes to the All-Academic Team throughout its eight fall championships.
Cross country's Tori Crawford, Tara Langan, Miguel Suero, men's soccer's Daniel Loyo, Manuel Ruiz Luque, and volleyball's Jenna Brown and Miranda Shaw were all named All-Academic for the second time in their careers.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
