Wilmington Golf Seeded Fifth for NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Beginning May 7

NEWARK, Del. - - The NCAA has announced the field of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes competing as individuals that have been selected to participate in regional competition of the 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship. The Wilmington University golf team is seeded fifth going into the Super Regional.

The Wildcats earned the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's automatic berth into the Super Regional by winning their eighth straight CACC Tournament Championship in the fall. The Wildcats were ranked first in the final poll of the regular season but was seeded fifth.

Southern New Hampshire, Le Moyne, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Dominican are seeded above the Wildcats. Roberts Wesleyan, Bentley, Franklin Pierce, Concordia, and Post conclude the East Region teams in the Super Regional.

Ten teams from the Atlantic Region will also be competing in the Super Regional, hosted by the Mountain East Conference at The Resort in Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia.

In order to advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament, the Wildcats will need to finish in the top three as a team at the Super Regional.

The four Super Regional tournaments begin on Monday, May 7, and features three rounds in three days. The Wildcats begin their first round on Monday at 12:50 p.m.
