Men’s Basketball’s Tyler Norwood Earns CACC Rookie of the Week

 

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the first time in the 2018-19 season, the Wilmington University men's basketball team has its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week.

Freshman guard Tyler Norwood was named CACC Rookie of the Week for his performance against Bridgeport last week.

Norwood recorded 22 points, shooting .60 percent from the floor, connecting on 9-15 of his shots. The freshman scored 14 of his 22 points in the second half. He went 2-5 from behind the arc, while dishing out four assists and one steal in 39 minutes played.

The Penncrest High School grad, is second on the team, averaging 15.7 points per game in his three games played. He recorded double digits in each game played so far, including 13 points in the Wildcats 86-82 win over the University of the District of Columbia.

Concordia's Cedrick McFadden and Goldey-Beacom's Corey Taite earned Co-Players of the Week, while Dominican's Jason Copman and Felician's Rahsaan Williams earned Co-Defensive Players of the Week.
