SMYRNA, Del. - - Records don't only fall on the field for the Wilmington University men's and women's soccer teams, but also in the community as they helped the 321foundation set attendance and fundraising records at the 321Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day Party on March 18.

Both teams were on hand to help set up the meeting hall at BCP Smyrna on Saturday evening, parking cars, and greeting all the attendees of the event. Throughout the night, the Wildcats shuffled through the entire venue, spending time with all the children, dancing and playing games, getting their faces painted, and many other activities alongside the 321foundation members.

Saturday night was the largest turnout for the event in its history, welcoming all families with disabled children, not just Down syndrome.

According to their website (www.321foundation.com), the 321foundation is a nonprofit organizations whose mission is to empower all individuals with Down Syndrome, their families, and friends in the community through advocacy, education, and support.

Created in 2014 by nine families that have children Down syndrome, the 321foundation seeks to provide the entire community with information and education to broaden awareness and foster attitudes regarding people with Down syndrome and others with different abilities.

The Wildcats were able to do just that for the 321foundation on Saturday, March 18, and looks forward to working with the organization for many years to come.
