Wilmington Bowling to Host Division II Tournament, to Compete in Nine Events in Second Season

NEWARK, Del. - - Second year head coach John York has ramped up the competition for the Wilmington University women's bowling team for 2017-18, scheduling nine tournaments including hosting the Wildcat DII Invitational in December.

Extending the schedule from four tournaments to nine in the program's second year of existence, York is beginning to get the program's feet under itself.

The 2017-18 season begins on October 14 when they Wildcats head to a baker style tournament hosted by Kutztown University. The Bud Whitman Memorial Tournament will run for two days at the Berks Lane in Sinking Spring, Pa.

The Wildcats then travel to Fairleigh Dickinson University for the FDU Jamboree starting on Friday, December 3. The three-day tournament will be hosted at 30 Strikes Lanes in Stratford, N.J.

The team will then have three weeks off before hosting its own one of a kind NCAA Division II only from December 1-3. The Wildcats first ever home tournament will be hosted at the Bowlerama in New Castle, Del.

Following the New Year, the Wildcats' schedule begins to pick up as they will head to three tournaments in the month of January. They will start with the Fred and Edwina Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic hosted by Bowie State from January 12-14 before heading back to Kutztown for the KU Invitational from January 19-21. This Kutztown's tournament will be hosted at Hiester Lanes in Reading, Pa. the month of January concludes with the Red Flash Invitational at the Holiday Bowl in Altoona, Pa., hosted by Saint Francis University.

The Wildcats will return to Kutztown for a final time in February, as they will play in the Golden Bear Classic, which will take place back at Berks Lane in Sinking Spring, Pa., from February 9-11. The team will then head to the James Brown Invitational hosted by Morgan State University from February 16-18. The James Brown Invitational will take place at the AMF Towson Lanes in Towson, Md.

The 2017-18 regular season will conclude with a two-day tournament hosted by Molloy College. The Molloy College Lion Invitational will run from February 24-25 at the AMF Plainview Lanes in Plainview, N.Y.
