Women’s Bowling Season Comes to and End at ECC Championships

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, N.Y. - - The Wilmington University women's bowling season came to a close on Saturday, falling to Chestnut Hill, 4-1, in a Baker Bracket match at the East Coast Conference Championships at the Port Jeff Bowl.

The Wildcats finish their second season of competition, but first full slate of tournaments, with a 42-52 head-to-head record. They finished in a tie for ninth overall at the ECC Tournament.

On Saturday, the Wildcats tied the match with the Griffins, 1-1, with a win in game two, 170-154. The second game was the highest pin total for the Wildcats in the match. The Wildcats narrowly lost the first game, 170-169, and fell in the final three games to lose the match, 4-1.

Four teams remain in play for the ECC Championship after Saturday, with Lincoln Memorial and Franklin Pierce still undefeated. Adelphi and Daemen are battling in the elimination bracket.
