Andrews and Brown named CACC Players of the Week

 

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the second week in a row, Wilmington University has at least two Wildcats who were named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Players of the Week.

Women's volleyball's Bailey Andrews was named CACC Rookie of the Week while Jenna Brown was named CACC Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row.  

Outside hitter Bailey Andrews posted 51 kills while averaging 2.83 kills per set for a .252 hitting percentage in the past week for the Wildcats. She recorded 27 digs in 18 sets played as well. Andrews had 10 kills and 13 digs against American International and 13 kills and five digs against Franklin Pierce in the Wildcat Regional Invitational. She also totaled 13 blocks with for a 0.72 blocks per set average as she took home the CACC Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career.

Redshirt senior Jenna Brown was all over the floor as she recorded 94 digs with a 5.22 digs per set average to give her the CACC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for a second straight week. She posted double-digit digs in all five matches she played. Brown had 24 digs at Chestnut Hill on September 5, 21 against American International, and 19 against Southern Connecticut State in the Wildcat Regional Invitational over the weekend. She also added 13 assists in 18 sets played.

Mandy Behiels was named to the Honor Roll for women's volleyball as she recorded 65 kills and 52 digs in 18 sets played, while men's soccer's Vinny Tasca was named to the Honor Roll for making four saves on five shots on goal in two games played. Men's cross country's Brandon Cruz was named to the Honor Roll for the second straight week, as he finished sixth in the men's 8K at the Philly Metro Invite.
