Jermaine Head on First Team, Thomas Farrior on Third Team as All-CACC Teams Announced

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference announced the 2018-19 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams on Tuesday, and the Wilmington University men's basketball program earned a spot for two student-athletes among the 15 selected.

In a vote among the 14 head coaches in the CACC, redshirt junior Jermaine Head earned a spot as a First Team All-CACC member while senior Thomas Farrior was voted as a Third Team All-CACC honoree.

It is the second such award for Jermaine Head (Edgewood, Md./Joppatowne) as he was named to the Second Team last season. It is the fourth straight year that the Wildcats placed a member on the First Team, following Tyaire Ponzo-Meek in 2015-16 and 2016-17, and Nick Richards last season.

For Thomas Farrior (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro), it is the first time in his career that he has been named All-CACC. It also marks the third year in a row that the Wildcats place two representatives on the All-CACC Teams.

At the end of the regular season, Head continues to lead the CACC in scoring 22.6 points per game, ranking his third in the East Region and 15th in all of NCAA Division II. The guard is also ninth in the league in averaging 7.6 rebounds per game, third in dishing out 5.3 assists per game, and second overall in picking up 2.6 steals per game. His 6.2 defensive rebounds per game rank his third in the CACC.

Head went over 30 points in three games, scoring 31 points in each of the three games. He also went over 20 points in 22 games this year, shooting at a 47 percent clip from the floor for the year. The guard has six double-doubles on the year, grabbing a season high 14 rebounds against Georgian Court to go with 22 points, flirting with a triple-double with eight assists. He also had a double-double at Concordia, posting 21 points and 12 assists.

Playing in the second half of the year, Farrior is now second in the CACC in averaging 21.4 points per game on the season. He is also second on the team in grabbing 7.2 rebounds a game, and comes up with 1.7 steals per game on the season.

Farrior has secured four double-doubles on the year, including a 35-point, 10-rebound effort at Bloomfield. The 35 points is tied for the fifth most in a single game in program history. He has gone over 20 points in 11 games this year, including each of the final five games in the regular season. He also scored 30 or more points three times this season, including 31 points at Bloomsburg and at Post. He is shooting at a 46.6 percent clip from the floor for the year.

Bloomfield's Kavione Green was voted as the CACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year while Holy Family's Patrick Robinson was named the CACC Rookie of the Year. Bloomfield's head coach Gerald Holmes was voted as the CACC Coach of the Year by the league's sports information directors.
