Jermaine Head Named CACC Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - After leading the Wilmington University men's basketball team to its first victory of the 2019-20 season, senior guard Jermaine Head has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Jermaine Head led the Wildcats (1-8) to the 74-69 victory over Kutztown on Saturday with 27 points, five rebounds, and three assists. The senior also drew eight fouls, leading to 10 foul shots in which he went perfect from the line, 10-for-10, for the game.

Head currently leads the CACC and is fourth in the East Region in scoring 23.1 points per game while also ranking fourth in the league with 38 assists. He's gone to the line 57 times this year, shooting at an 84.2 percent clip.

Chestnut Hill's Scottie Spann was named the CACC Rookie of the Week while Bloomfield's Matt Lajeunesse was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week.

Head and the Wildcats will look to make it two in a row when they host Bloomsburg on Monday night starting at 6:00 p.m.
