Men’s Soccer’s Adrian Tash Named Third Team NSCAA All-East Region

In his first season as a Wilmington University men's soccer student-athlete, defender Adrian Tash made a name for himself as a shutdown defender, earning a spot on the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Men's All-East Region Third Team.

Tash (Mississauga, Ontario) was also a First Team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference performer on the back line for the Wildcats, joining fellow defender Joe Woodley among the CACC elite.

The junior was voted to the Third Team by the East Region's head coaches after playing in 20 games this season, making all 20 starts on the back line. Tash scored one goal and added two assists during the season, but made his mark as a shutdown defender.

Tash disturbed the CACC Player of the Year, Concordia's Ovan Oakley, in both of the team's contests this season, matching Oakley in speed and athleticism to take him out of the contest, and leading the Wildcats to victory each time. The team's second matchup was in the CACC Tournament Quarterfinals, a contest in which the Wildcats won 2-0 on Concordia's home field.

Tash earned his first point as a Wildcat in the third game of the year, assisting on Steven O'Connor's eventual game-winner in the 45th minute. He scored his lone goal of the season at Bridgeport, tying the game in the 57th minute before the Wildcats went on to earn the win. He also assisted on Vitor Lima's first goal against Nyack.

The Wildcats went 13-8 overall and earned the sixth seed for the CACC Tournament. After knocking off Concordia in the Quarterfinals, the Wildcats defeated Dominican in the Semifinals before falling to top seeded Philadelphia in the CACC Tournament Championship.
