ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - - Malthe Hannesbo scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Wilmington University men's soccer team to a 5-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory on the road at Dominican on Saturday at O'Brien Field.

Malthe Hannesbo had a hand in the Wildcats' (4-4-2, 3-2 CACC) first four goals, scoring goals to make it 1-0 and 3-1. He assisted on the team's second and fourth goals as well, tallying a season high six points.

The high pressure of the Wildcats aided in the game's opening goal, winning a throw-in off a six-yarder. Tyrese Small played it forward to Hannesbo, and he pocketed a 20-yard shot to the keeper's left to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.

The Chargers (1-9, 1-4 CACC) scored in the 25th minute, but the Wildcats had an answer right away. The high pressure helped the Wildcats again, as a turnover on the right side led to a Caesar Knapp goal. Diego Ramirez stole the ball, played it forward to Hannesbo who played it across the box to Knapp. He went back to the near post to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead in the 26th minute.

Hannesbo scored his second goal of the game in the 52nd minute, taking a bouncing ball and one-timing it from outside the box, this time beating the goalkeeper to his right to make it 3-1.

The Chargers closed to within a goal once again in the 68th minute, using the right side to get in behind the back line.

Jeremie Briquet made it a comfortable two-goal game again in the 78th minute, scoring his team leading fifth goal to the near post. Diego Ramirez played a ball over the top, looking for Hannesbo. Hannesbo redirected the long ball with his head to right to the foot of Briquet in the box, and the graduate student blasted it past the keeper for the 4-2 lead.

The forward pressure off a goal-kick resulted in another goal for the Wildcats in the 88th minute, this time Troy Paul being the recipient of the turnover. Paul took a forward touch into the box and blasted a shot to the upper left corner for his second goal of the year.

The Wildcats, the nations' leader in shots per game, outshot the Chargers, 36-8, including 20-6 in shots on goal. Charlie Phillis recorded four saves for the Wildcats for his third straight win for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats step outside of the CACC for their final nonconference game of the year on Wednesday, as they travel to Dobbs Ferry, New York, to take on Mercy. The opening whistle is set for 2:30 p.m. against the Mavericks.
