Bowling in Ninth After Traditional Matches at Northeast Region Roundup

NEW CASTLE, Del. - - The Wilmington University bowling team played five NCAA Division I programs to start the Northeast Region Roundup on Saturday, going 1-4 overall with a total pinfall of 4,599 to sit in ninth place overall.

In five traditional matches, the Wildcats faced four nationally ranked teams, beating one of them. Saturday started with a win over No. 23 Niagara, 910-886, but then the team fell to No. 19 Fairleigh Dickinson, No. 16 Merrimack, Bryant, and No. 12 Mount St. Mary's.

The Wildcats were led by Logan Brown's 30th place finish, bowling a 950 in the five matches. She had a 219 against Bryant while also bowling a 2-2 against FDU. She had a 190.00 average on Saturday

Freshman Miranda Dudas placed 35th overall with a 928, having a day's best 206 against Merrimack. She finished with a 185.60 average for the day.

Sydney Jones finished 41st overall with a five-match total of 902, having a Wilmington-best 225 against Merrimack. She also bowled a 201 against Bryant, finishing with a 180.40 average.

Eleni Feggulis had a four-match total of 700 on Saturday, bowling a day's best 201 against Merrimack. Genna Clss had a 195.67 average in three games for the Wildcats, bowling a 214 against Bryant and a 204 against Mount St. Mary's. KC Miller bowled three matches, finishing with a 532 for a 177.33 average, collecting a day's best 203 against Mount St. Mary's.

Merrimack leads the tournament after going a perfect 5-0 with a 5,068 total pinfall. Mount St. Mary's is hot on their tail, finishing the day with a total pinfall of 5,067 for second place.

Fairleigh Dickinson's Allyhsa Howard earned MVP honors on Saturday, bowling a 1,152 for a 230.40 average.

Sunday brings four Baker match games before the teams will determine a final standings with a Baker bracket game.
