Women’s Lacrosse Wraps Up Regular Season with 22-2 Win at Nyack

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - - The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team closed out the 2022 regular season with a 22-2 win over Nyack on Friday at the Berry Lane Park.

The win locks the Wildcats into the No. 5 seed for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament next week due to the head-to-head results with both Holy Family and Post. They will travel to No. 4 Holy Family on Tuesday afternoon in a First Round matchup. The Wildcats finished the regular season 10-6 overall and 5-4 in CACC play.

It was all Wilmington on Friday, as they scored the first 20 goals of the game against the undermanned Warriors. They led 11-0 after the first quarter and 16-0 at the half. The Wildcats scored all four goals of the third quarter as well to lead 20-0 after the third quarter.

Nyack (0-10, 0-8 CACC) got on the board with a goal to start the fourth quarter, and then ended the game with their second goal of the game.

Ella Baynes led the Wildcats with four goals and an assist while Amelie Gamache and Makenzie Stritzinger scored three goals and an assist each. Taylor Lambeth led with seven points, collecting a goal and six assists in the win. Campbell Heller finished with a game high eight draws in the in.

The Wildcats won all 12 draws in the first quarter en route to a 24-4 advantage at the restart.
