MONSEY, N.Y. - - The Wilmington University women's tennis team finished the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference regular season undefeated for the second straight year, defeating Dominican, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Manny Welder Park.

It is the Wildcats' 16th consecutive conference victory, going 6-0 last season and 10-0 this year. They will head into the CACC Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will play No. 4 Chestnut Hill on Saturday morning at the Delcastle Tennis Center. The Championship is set for Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Chargers were playing shorthanded, so the Wildcats only needed to win one doubles match to earn the point. Fenna Swaan and Carmelle Vial wrapped up the doubles' point with a 6-0 win at No. 1. Marley Trifunovic and Valentina Ivankovic won at No. 2 doubles, 6-3, to move onto singles untouched.

Fenna Swaan and Marley Trifunovic won by default at No. 6 and No. 5 singles, respectively, so the next point would give the Wildcats the team win. Alva Norberg was that student-athlete, winning at No. 4 singles, 6-1 and 6-0, to give the Wildcats their fourth point and the team victory.

Larize Nel won at No. 3 singles, 6-2 and 6-1, and then Neus Ramos Moreno won at No. 2 singles, 6-1 and 6-1. Jess Purdy completed the sweep with a 6-4 and 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.

The Wildcats are hosting the CACC Tournament with Goldey-Beacom at the Delcastle Tennis Center. The Wildcats and Griffins play at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday followed by No. 2 Jefferson against No. 3 Post at 1:00 p.m.
