NEWARK, Del. - - Wilmington senior standout Rebekah McCurry joins 21 other seniors on the Division II North Squad as the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the 2015 North-South All-Star rosters.
The 22 members of the North Team will go against 23 seniors from the Division II South Squad on Saturday, June 6 hosted by Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa. The Division II All-Star Game is set for an opening draw at 12:45 p.m.
Three other Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference seniors join McCurry (St. Leonard, Md.) on the North Squad, as Chestnut Hill’s Alexis Puhl, Holy Family’s Brianna Lancetta, and Philadelphia’s Lauren Hartman were all selected to participate in the All-Star contest.
This season, McCurry was named to the All-CACC First-Team in late-April, as she put up some spectacular numbers across a long line of statistical categories in 2015. She led Division II in caused turnovers (3.33 per game), while also ranking sixth in ground balls (4.22 per game). McCurry broke five single-season program records in 2015, including points (74 on 34 goals and 40 assists), assists (40), ground balls (76), draw controls (88) and caused turnovers (60). McCurry either broke or tied three single-game WilmU records, including draw controls (13 vs. Tampa) and ground balls (9 vs. Dominican), while twice tying the top mark for caused turnovers with seven (vs. Dominican & East Stroudsburg).
A two-time captain for the Wildcats, McCurry leaves WilmU as one of the program’s all-time greats. She was a two-time First-Team All-CACC performer, while ranking first in career ground balls (172) and caused turnovers (120), third in career goals (116), fourth in career assists (68) and third in career points (184).
The IWLCA has honored 132 senior student-athletes with selection to one of the 2015 North-South rosters. The 2015 North-South games will take place at Cabrini College, in Radnor, PA. on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Game times are: Division I - 11:30 am, Division II - 12:45 pm and Division III - 2:00 pm.
