MARSHALL, Minn. - - Wilmington University juniors Frank Samluk and Jamie Treml were among 48 student-athletes that were named to either the first, second, or third team for the 2014 Daktronics Baseball All-America Teams.

Samluk (Middletown, Del./St. Elizabeth's) earned Second Team honors as a Utility (Pitcher) while Treml (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) was named Third Team as a starting pitcher.

The D2SIDA All-America and All-Region baseball teams are sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing, and programmable display systems for virtually every sports at every level of competition. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA: NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association. Daktronics has sponsored the baseball All-America Program since 2007.

Samluk was an everyday player for the Wildcats, moving around the infield when not starting on the mound. Samluk finished ninth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with a .348 batting average while leading the conference with 14 sacrifice bunts. He hit six doubles and knocked in 16 RBI while scoring 26 more runs. He was also 15-of-16 on the base paths.

On the mound, Samluk went 5-1 in 12 appearances, making 11 starts for the Wildcats. His 60 strikeouts led the team and was eighth most in the CACC. In 61.1 innings, he collected a 2.20 earned run average, fifth lowest in the CACC, while batters only hit .193 against the righty.

Treml earns his first All-American status of his career after earning All-Region honors in each of the three organizations (Daktronics, NCBWA, and ABCA) this season. He led the CACC with a 0.96 earned run average, going a perfect 9-0 in 11 appearances. Treml tossed 47 innings on the season, striking out 58 batters while being a part of four shutouts. In his final start of the year, Treml pitched seven shutout innings with four strikeouts against St. Thomas Aquinas in the opening round of the NCAA East Regional Tournament, earning the win. His 11.11 strikeouts per game also rank third in the CACC.

The First Team All-Region honor was Treml's first for Daktronics while it was the second consecutive year Samluk was named First Team among the sports information directors.
