Former Wilmington Baseball Player Jordan Johnson Signs With the Roswell Invaders

NEWARK, Del. - - Former Wilmington University baseball student-athlete and current Student Assistant Coach Jordan Johnson has signed a contract with the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League, an independent conference based in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas.

The catalyst for the 2013 Wildcats that reached the championship game of the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament, Johnson was a career .321 batter in two seasons for the Wildcats. He was named Second Team All-CACC as a senior in center field, while also earning ABCA/Rawlings East Region Gold Glove Second Team recognition.

As a senior, he batted 70-for-217 from atop the Wildcats' lineup, collecting eight doubles, 22 RBI, and a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference leading 60 runs scored. Johnson was also 20-for-22 on the base paths in 2013.

Johnson heads to New Mexico this Saturday with training camp starting on Wednesday, May 7. The 2014 schedule starts with three games on the road, playing a series at the White Sands Pupfish starting on May 14.

The Invaders are coming off a 2013 Pecos League Championship and are looking to win their third in the last four seasons overall.
