Wilmington Baseball Ranked No. 5 in First NCAA East Regional Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - With the first installment of the 2019 NCAA Division II Regional Rankings, the Wilmington University baseball team sits in fifth with a 29-16 overall record.

The Wildcats conclude their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference regular season this weekend when they play a doubleheader against Jefferson on Friday and a doubleheader at Caldwell on Saturday.

The Northeast 10's Adelphi leads the poll with a 27-5 record followed by fellow NE10 member Southern New Hampshire with a 28-10 record. The East Coast Conference have members at three and four in NYIT (23-9) and LIU Post (26-12), before Wilmington comes in at No. 5.

The CACC has three schools in the Top 10, led by the Wildcats at No. 5. Felician is currently No. 8 while Chestnut Hill rounds out the rankings at No. 10.

This year, the NCAA Regional Tournament will be broken into two four-team pods at two different sites. The winners of each double-elimination tournament will face off in a three-game Super Regional series.
