Jasmine Lee and Kevin Ohen Named Wilmington University Student-Athletes of the Month

In the fourth installment of the Wilmington University Student-Athlete of the Month for the 2014-15 season, basketball student-athletes Jasmine Lee and Kevin Ohen have been honored for their work on the court throughout the month of December.

Lee was named the Female Student-Athlete of the Month for January after leading the Wildcats with 13.0 points per game and finishing second on the team with 5.8 rebounds a contest. She helped the Wildcats to a 2-4 record as they defeated Georgian Court and Hood in back-to-back game before the New Year.

The sophomore led the Wildcats to a 70-44 win over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division foe Georgian Court with 21 points while also scoring in double figures against Chestnut Hill (13), Hood (13), and Bloomfield (10). Lee added 10 rebounds against the Lions for her lone double-double of the season.

For the month of December, Lee shot 59.5 percent from the floor (25-of-42), contributing to her CACC leading 64.1 percent shooting touch for the season. She shot 6-for-7 against Chestnut Hill, 3-for-8 at Post, 8-for-15 against Georgian Court, 3-for-4 at Hood, and 5-for-8 at Bloomfield.

Ohen was named the Male Student-Athlete of the Month for January after leading the Wildcats to a 3-5 overall record and a 2-3 clip in the CACC. He led the team in averaging 17.9 points per game and finished second in averaging 6.6 rebounds per contest. Ohen has hit a team high 19 three-pointers during December and been to the foul line more than any other Wildcat throughout the month.

In his first season with the Wildcats, Ohen led the Wildcats to three straight victories in December, defeating Post, Mercy, and Georgian Court. He then scored a season high 27 points against Merrimack, leading the team to a near monumental second half comeback before falling just short. He scored in double figures in all but one game in December.

The senior set a new season high in rebounds in December, grabbing nine against Chestnut Hill and grabbing nine more against Merrimack. Ohen also picked up eight at Holy Family and eight more at Bloomfield. Ohen is currently 12th in the CACC in averaging 2.5 offensive rebounds per game this season.

Both Lee and Ohen will help lead their respective teams in the New Year, as they host Philadelphia on January 7, and Goldey-Beacom on January 10.
