NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University men's basketball team is set to play 14 home games, including hosting its own CACC/ECC Challenge at the WU Athletics Complex as head coach Dan Burke announces the 2017-18 schedule.

Burke led the Wildcats to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament last year for the second time in four years, earning a first round home game for the first time in program history after going 19-10 overall and 14-5 in the CACC.

The Wildcats will open this season as they play NYIT in its own Wilmington Tip-off Classic on November 10 and LIU Post on the November 11.  After playing host to the CACC/ECC Challenge (Wilmington Tip-Off Classic), the Cats take to the road to take on Millersville University on November 15 and then travel to Daemen College on the 18th.  The Wildcats will play a pair of PSAC opponents in back-to-back contests, as they host Millersville on the 22nd and head to West Chester on the 25th.  The team closes out the month of November at home as they take on University of the District of Columbia on November 29.

Fans only have two chances to check out the Wildcats at home in the month of December, as they will host two CACC games prior to Winter Break. The month opens with the beginning of the CACC schedule, as the Wildcats host Holy Family at the Complex on Tuesday, December 5. They will then travel to crosstown rival and CACC opponent Goldey-Beacom on December 9. The next two games find the Cats playing in another tournament, this time on the road hosted by American International College on December 16-17.  The Wildcats will play the host Yellow Jackets as well as Franklin Pierce over the weekend.

The team will travel to Jefferson University to play another tough CACC contest on December 19, the final contest before the Holiday Break. The Wildcats will close out the 2017 calendar with another CACC contest, hosting USciences at the Complex on Saturday, December 30.

The Wildcats will now focus their sights on the remainder of their schedule, which happens to be all CACC Conference games.

Throughout the month of January and February the team will travel to Chestnut Hill, Caldwell, Nyack, and Holy family, University of the Sciences, Dominican and Georgian Court. They will host Georgian Court, Concordia, Jefferson, Felician, Bloomfield, Chestnut Hill, Post and Goldey Beacom.

After all the dust settles the Cats hope to have reached their goal of being one of the top four teams in the South Division, playing in the CACC Tournament's first round which is set for Tuesday, February 27, at the higher seed. The four advancing teams will head to Jefferson University (Philadelphia University) to take part in the CACC Tournament Semifinals on March 3 with a champion crowned on March 4.
