NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - After leading their team to a 3-0 week and clinching a spot in the upcoming CACC Tournament, Wilmington University men's soccer players Kresimir Nurnberger and Lance Berry were honored by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, sweeping the weekly awards announced today.

Nurnberger, a senior from Zagreb, Croatia, earned the CACC Player of the Week award for the first time in his career while Berry, a freshman from Bear, Del., was named the CACC Rookie of the Week, also for the first time in his career.

The senior captain posted six points while leading the Wildcats to wins over Chestnut Hill, Holy Family and Caldwell to clinch a spot in the upcoming CACC Tournament. He started the week with an assist off a corner against Chestnut Hill before adding two assists and the game-winning goal over Holy Family. Nurnberger collected assists on the first two goals of the match off corners and scored the game-winner in the 52nd minute for his third goal of the year. He capped his week with another assist on the game's lone goal at Caldwell, starting the goal with a corner kick.

Berry scored goals in the first two matches of the week, picking up the game-winner with the first goal of the game against Chestnut Hill off a free kick from 25 yards out. He followed that performance up with a goal against Holy Family, heading home a corner from Nurnberger to make it 2-0. He is now tied for the team lead with five goals on the season.

The men wrapped up their CACC schedule on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Caldwell. They are now 8-1 in their last nine matches overall, including a 5-1 mark in the CACC to rise as high as third in the CACC standings. Their seeding for the upcoming CACC Tournament is still in the air, as multiple teams finish out the CACC regular season this week.
