Elton Joe and Tommy Quaranta Named to Men’s Soccer All-CACC Teams in Leading Wilmington

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - After leading their team to the fourth seed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament this week, Elton Joe and Tommy Quaranta were named All-CACC by a vote of the league's head coaches, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Joe (Baltimore Md./Digital Harbor) earned top recognition as a forward as a First Team All-CACC player while Quaranta (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) was named Second Team All-CACC. The two have been the offensive driving force for the Wildcats all season long.

Prior to the CACC Quarterfinals on Monday, Elton was third in the CACC with 12 goals and 30 points, adding two goals and an assist on Monday to help the team advance back to the CACC Tournament Semifinals. He also leads the Conference with 81 shots.

Joe put on a scoring clinic in the middle of the season, scoring eight goals in a matter of six matches, adding a pair of assists for 18 points in the six contests. He has scored multiple goals against Holy Family, Concordia, and West Chester, before adding a pair of goals against the Clippers on Monday in the Quarterfinals. The junior had a point streak running through the team's first seven contests before being derailed at Chestnut Hill. He is third in the CACC with four game-winning goals.

Quaranta was sixth in goals, fourth in assists, and sixth in points in the CACC coming into Monday's CACC Quarterfinal match, and after scoring a goal and adding an assist on Monday, moves into third with seven assists on the year.

Quaranta tallied the team's first hat trick since the 2009 season with three goals in the first 30 minutes of the first half against Millersville on September 17. He has scored at least one point in 12 of the team's 18 contests so far this season, including a goal in the regular season finale at Georgian Court to now make it two straight games with a goal. The senior is third in the CACC with four game-winning goals on the season.

CACC Regular Season Champions Post's Joe Baccielo was named the CACC Player of the Year for the second straight year, leading the team to an 11-1 conference record and a 15-1-1 overall record, reaching as high as No. 6 in the NSCAA National Poll. Caldwell's freshman Haakon Sulheim was named the CACC Rookie of the Year after finishing second in the CACC with 16 goals 32 points. Post's Ted Haley was recognized as the league's Coach of the Year.

Goldey-Beacom rounded out the major award winners as being chosen by the conference's Sports Information Directors as the Team Sportsmanship Award winners.

All the award winners and all-conference players will be recognized at the awards banquet on the campus of Wilmington University on Tuesday night prior to the start of the CACC Tournament Semifinal round on Wednesday.
