Men’s Soccer Contest Between Wilmington and UDC on Thursday Temporarily Postponed

NEWARK, Del. - - Thursday's matchup between the Wilmington University men's soccer team and the University of the District of Columbia has been postponed due to the government shutdown.

UDC, a government funded school, had its resources frozen due to the government shutdown in late September. Many of service academies and federally funded institutions (Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, etc.) have had difficulty maintaining their regularly scheduled contests.

Both team's head coaches are working for a rescheduled date, but no date has been confirmed due to the inability to guess when the government will open again.

The Wildcats next contest will now be on Saturday when they travel to Bloomfield for another tough CACC road contest. Their game is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
