NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University men's soccer team received a second life on Monday night as the Wildcats were selected to participate in the NCAA Division II National Tournament, earning the sixth and final seed in the East Region.

The tension was easily noticeable inside the Pratt Student Center on Monday night as the team and fans gathered to watch the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Selection Show. Having lost in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Semifinals, the Wildcats left the decision in the hands of the NCAA committee.

The Wildcats watched as five other teams were selected before them, but then erupted as their name was called as the sixth seed for the East Regional Tournament. The Wildcats will square off against No. 3 Adelphi in the first round, hosted by No. 2 LIU Post in Brookville, N.Y.

The Wildcats and Panthers will square off at LIU Post on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
