MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - - A pair of late first half goals carried Millersville to a 2-0 nonconference victory over the Wilmington University men's soccer team on Tuesday night at Pucillo Stadium.

It is the first time Millersville (5-0-1) has gotten the better of the Wildcats (1-3-2) since the 2010 season, snapping a four-game winning streak by the Wildcats in the series.

Millersville, ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Region in today's United Soccer Coaches Regional Polls, scored in the 36th and 42nd minutes to take a 2-0 lead at halftime. Millersville out shot the Wildcats, 9-4, in each half, leading to an 18-8 advantage for the home team in the game.

The Wildcats' Jeremie Saint-Marc put a shot on frame in the 12th minute before Leandro Louro da Silva followed with a shot on goal in the 30th minute, but both shots were saved. Caesar Knapp had a shot on goal in the 39th minute while Louro da Silva had another chance in the 42nd minute, but again Travis Holiday made the stops. That would be all the shots on goal the Wildcats would gather in the contest.

Bas Markus made seven saves in the contest for the Wildcats.

It is the first time that the Wildcats lost three straight games since the 2014 season.

The Wildcats' tough schedule continues with its next contest, as they welcome nationally No. 9 ranked Southern New Hampshire to the WU Athletics Complex on Saturday afternoon. The opening whistle against the Penmen is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
