Wilmington is also adding two transfers in Amanda Cordrey (Sussex Central HS/Millsboro, DE) and Heather Karasaek (North County/Linthicum, MD).  Both Cordrey and Karasek come to the 'Cats from Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia, and will enter their sophomore years of eligibility.  Cordrey was a former All-State catcher at Sussex Central, and also earned All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) honors last season, hitting .323 and leading her team with a .985 fielding percentage behind the plate.  Karasek, a pitcher, was a former All-Anne Arundel County selection at North County, and went 7-4 with a 2.51 earned run average in 20 appearances for the Cardinals.

"We are ecstatic to have these eight players join us and look forward to their arrival", stated Coach Harvey.  She added, "They will fit in nicely with our returning players, and give the squad the deepest team we've had in quite some time.  Each should challenge for significant playing time, and it will make for some very competitive softball here at Wilmington."

These new recruits join nine returning student-athletes on a Wildcat squad that finished the 2008 season with an overall record of 29-19 (16-8 in the CACC) and qualified for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoffs for the second consecutive season.
