Three Wildcats Named to 2023 CACC Women’s Track and Field All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Forty-seven (47) student-athletes on Tuesday were named to the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Ten (10) of the 13 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.

Wilmington boasts three student-athletes on the 2023 CACC Women's Track and Field All-Academic Team, leading with a pair of graduate students. Alexa Crowell is one of five CACC student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA while she is joined by fellow graduate student-athlete Viviana Caamano. Jalah Turner also makes the All-Academic Team for the first time in her track and field career.

Holy Family University led the way with 10 honorees making the squad, while Caldwell University was next with nine student-athletes achieving academic status.

NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM:

  • Caldwell's Ana Gonzalez, and Holy Family's trio of Kaitlyn Durning, Amber Fisgaer, and Ashley Fisgaer, and Wilmington University's Alex Crowell were the honorees to post perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages.
  • Thirteen (13) student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Ten (10) were named to the CACC WOTF All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers.
  • Ten (10)) were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
