NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Wilmington University freshman Tenicia Spence was name All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Honorable Mention on Wednesday, becoming the first Wildcat to be named All-CACC since the 2009-10 season, the conference office announced.

In a vote of the leagues 14 head coaches, 15 players were named to the top three teams with an additional five players, including Spence, named Honorable Mention. Spence becomes the first Wildcat to earn All-CACC distinction since Amelia Simmons was named the 2009-10 CACC Women's Basketball Player of the Year.

Spence, a freshman from Baltimore, Md., got her Wilmington career off to a hot start, scoring 20 or more points in five of the first six games of her career. She tallied 31 points twice this season before breaking her personal best with a 32 point performance against Caldwell on February 16 at the WU Athletics Complex. In all, she scored 20 or more points in 12 of the teams' 26 games, and double digits in all but four games this year.

The lefty guard finished third in the CACC in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per game in leading all freshmen in that category. Spence was also seventh in scoring in CACC games only, averaging 17.2 points per game among conference foes. She was 10th in the league in playing time, averaging over 32 minutes of action per contest, starting in all but four games during her freshman campaign.

Spence sank 31 three-pointers over the course of the season while shooting 36 percent from the floor. She also hit on 78 percent of her free throw attempts, sinking 85-of-109 on the year, good enough for seventh in the CACC. Spence averaged 3.1 rebounds per game as well and 12th in the conference with 46 steals.

Holy Family's senior forward Erin Mann was named the 2012-13 CACC Women's Basketball Player of the Year, leading the CACC in field-goal percentage, converting 53 percent of her attempts from the field to average 18.3 points per game for the Tigers. She also averaged 8.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.8 blocks per game. He 72 total blocks on the year are the most by any women's basketball play in the conference and currently ranks fourth in NCAA Division II.

Philadelphia's Tori Arnao was selected as the CACC Rookie of the Year, leading the CACC in rebounding as a freshmen, averaging 12.2 boards per game which ranks fifth in NCAA Division II. She averaged a double-double with 11.3 points per game this season, recording 14 double-doubles on the year.

Holy Family's head coach Mark Miller was selected as the CACC Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to a 24-2 overall record (18-1 CACC), and as high as a No. 5 ranking in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association USA TODAY Sports Division II Top 25 poll during the season. The Tigers are currently ranked sixth.

Nyack College and Chestnut Hill College tied for the most points to earn the CACC Sportsmanship Team of the Year award.

The 2012-13 CACC Championships will begin Saturday, March 2, with games played at the campus of the higher seed. The CACC Semifinals and Championship will be hosted by the University of the Sciences on March 8 and 9, respectively.
