Jade Roberts and Skylar Parris Named to 2022-23 CACC All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Forty-three (43) student-athletes on Tuesday were named to the 2022-23 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All 13 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.

The Wildcats placed two student-athletes on the 2022-23 CACC All-Academic Team, led by two-time honoree Jade Roberts. Skylar Paris also earned a spot on the All-Academic Team for the first time in her career.

Chestnut Hill College led the way with 10 honorees on the team, while Goldey-Beacom College was next with six student-athletes making the squad.

CACC Player and Defensive Player of the Year, Haley Meinel (Thomas Jefferson University), made the squad with a 4.00 graduate cumulative grade point average and a 3.66 undergrad GPA.

NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM:

  • Four student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages (Chestnut Hill's Bri Hewlett, CHC's Morgan Sterner, Holy Family University's Anjelai Hayes, Jefferson's Meinel).
  • Eleven (11) student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Hayes was named to the team for the fifth time, while six other student-athletes were placed on the academic team for the fourth time in their respective careers (CHC's Lauren Crim, Hewlett, Leah Miller, Morgan Orloski, G-B's Jhordan Gardner, Lexi Weikert).
  • Seven were named to the CACC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers.
  • Nine were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
  • The eight teams to qualify for the CACC post-season tournament combined to have 29 honorees make the all-academic team.
