Chris Burley joins the Wilmington University women’s basketball coaching staff for the 2014-15 season. As an assistant coach, Burley will also be the staff’s recruiting coordinator.

Burley teams up with Wilmington head coach Tiffany Silver once again after nine successful seasons on the bench with Silver at Western High School and Towson Catholic from 2004-11.

Most recently, Burley was a part of two seasons as an assistant at Goucher College in Towson, Md. Burley worked with the post players, helping two student-athletes earn All-Landmark Conference honors.

Prior to Goucher, Burley spent one season as an assistant at St. Frances Academy, coaching the team’s post and guards. He was also assisting with the program’s recruiting efforts. While at St. Frances, he helped the team advance to the postseason while aiding a pair of guards to receive First Team All-Conference honors.

Burley began coaching with Silver at Towson Catholic for three seasons before arriving at Western High School in Baltimore with Silver. At Western, Burley helped Silver to an 80-4 overall record against district opponents. Including five district regular season championships, five regional championships, five Maryland State Final Four appearances, and three Maryland State Championship appearances. Burley has worked with nine post and guard players that went on to play at the NCAA Division I level.

Outside of coaching at the college and high school level, Burley served as the Assistant Director of one of the nation’s best high school events, the Breezy Bishop Classic, from 2006-11. Many of the individuals that participated in the Classic eventually played or coached in the WNBA.

A native of Baltimore, MD., Burley is considers one of the regions top recruiters, helping highly talented student-athletes sign and play at numerous colleges and universities.

Burley graduated from University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2000 before earning a masters degree in Forensic Studies from Stevenson University in 2009.

Burley is married, has three children, and currently resides in Baltimore, Md.
