Sydney Jones Named CACC Bowler of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - For the second time this year, a Wilmington University bowling student-athlete has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Bowler of the Week, as Sydney Jones picked up the honor after her first place showing at the CACC Meet last weekend.

Sydney Jones joins Logan Brown with the weekly accolades so far this year, as Brown was named the CACC Bowler of the Week on October 20.

Sydney Jones won medalist honors on Saturday at the CACC Meet with a 196.40 match average but didn't put herself in that position until the final match. Her 286 against Bloomfield in the fifth and final match of the day is the third best individual match in program history, behind only Sinoda Cook's 300-game in the 2017-18 season and KC Miller's 287 in the 2021-22 season. it allowed her to jump the field on the leaderboard, claiming the top spot after five Traditional matches. She bowled games of 183-178-181-154-286 for a 982 total, beating Felician's Vivian Luna by eight pins.

Felician's Vivian Luna was named the CACC Rookie of the Week this week while Logan Brown, KC Miller, and Eleni Feggulis was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.

The Wildcats are back in action this weekend as they travel to the always highly competitive UMES Hawk Classic.
