Eleni Feggulis Earns MVP Honors as Wilmington Bowling Leads New Jersey Open

STRATFORD, N.J. - - The Wilmington University bowling team jumped three spots and into the top position after the Traditional matches on Saturday at the New Jersey Open, hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson at 30 Strikes Lane.

The Wildcats went 3-2 on Saturday but still put down 303 more pins than Monmouth who is in second place. The Wildcats have a two-day total of 9,292 pins for a 10-match average of 185.80.

The Wildcats also produced three of the Top 5 individual performances on Saturday, including Eleni Feggulis who earned MVP honors with the only 200+ average. She finished in first place with a five-match total of 1,077 for a 215.40 average. Logan Brown was third overall with a total pinfall of 975 while Sydney Jones was fourth overall with a 972.

The second day of the tournament started with a 1,024-813 victory over LIU and then they defeated Felician, 972-848. They dropped matches to Wagner and Monmouth but still produced a 969 against Monmouth. The day ended with their best match, putting down 1,035 pins against Kutztown. The Wildcats went 3-2 overall.

Eleni Feggulis bowled a tournament-best 268 in the final match of the day, adding to her 257 against LIU and 215 against Felician. She finished with games of 257-215-170-167-268 for her 1,077.

Logan Brown finished third overall after bowling a day's best 240 against Monmouth. She also had identical 213's to start the day. She bowled matches of 213-213-154-240-155 for her 975.

Sydney Jones also earned All-Tournament Team after finishing fourth overall with a 972. She had a day's best 221 against Felician while also adding a 213 against Monmouth. She bowled matches of 179-221-177-213-182 for a 194.40 average.

KC Miller finished ninth overall with a five-match total of 937. She bowled a day's best 209 against Kutztown. She bowled matches of 187-179-178-184-209 for a 187.40 average.

Miranda Dudas bowled in three matches for the Wildcats and finished the day with a 221 against Kutztown. She had a 553 total in three matches, good enough for a 184.33 average. Genna Closs bowled the other two matches and had finishes of 146 and 165.

The tournament concludes on Sunday with three Bracket Baker matches. The Wildcats in first place and will begin the day against Monmouth.
