NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - A pair of female student-athletes led their respective sports to undefeated records last week, earning positions on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Reports for women's soccer and women's tennis on Monday.

Junior transfer Teigha Ward (Ilion, N.Y./Central Valley Academy) tied a program record with four goals against Concordia to earn CACC Co-Player of the Week for women's soccer while women's tennis freshman Milica Knezevic (Novi Sad, Serbia) was named CACC Rookie of the Week after a perfect 4-0 week.

Ward became the third player in the program's NCAA era (2004) to score four goals in a game, a feat that has been accomplished four times now. She scored both goals of the first half to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead at the break. She came back and secured her hat trick with a goal in the 71st minute before tying the record with her fourth goal in the 87th minute. She joins teammate Loran Wyrough in tying Kirsten Stallone's mark of four goals set back in 2007. Wyrough has performed the feat twice in her career. Ward is now tied for second in the CACC with 20 points, scoring seven goals and adding six assists on the year.

Knezevic perfectly navigated two matches for the women's tennis team this past week, helping the team to a 2-0 mark and secure the number two seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament this weekend. Playing at number five singles, Knezevic defeated both her opponents from Philadelphia and Caldwell, 6-0 and 6-0, this week. She also teamed up with doubles partner Anushka Sathe to win both their matches, 8-1, against Philadelphia and 8-2 against Caldwell. Knezevic is now 8-4 overall at number five singles this year, 7-3 in dual matches, and 6-1 against conference opponents. Her and Sathe ate 8-3 overall in doubles, 8-2 in dual matches, and 6-1 against CACC opponents.

Ward will lead the Wildcats into three games this week, first at Philadelphia on Wednesday. Knezevic takes the team to the CACC Tournament this weekend, squaring off against Post on Saturday in the semifinals.
