NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Wilmington University volleyball standout Nicole Wiechecki has been honored by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for her outstanding play the previous week, earning CACC Player of the Week for the first time this season, announced by the conference office on Monday.

After leading the Wildcats (20-4, 12-0 CACC) to a perfect 3-0 week and extending the team's season long win streak to 10 matches overall, Wiechecki (Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy) earned her first CACC Player of the Week honor since September 12, 2011.

The outside hitter led the team with 29 kills (29-7-66) for a .333 attack percentage while playing all nine sets. Wiechecki also had a team high 10 service aces and 32 digs on the week. The 10 services aces now give Wiechecki a CACC leading 49 on the year.

Starting the week with cross-town rival Goldey-Beacom, Wiechecki collected nine kills and 12 digs, hitting a week low .200 for the match. She also picked up two service aces on the match. On Friday, the senior served up six aces, four in a row in the first set, totaling seven kills and 11 digs. She hit .357 against the Lions. Rounding out the week on Saturday at Felician, Wiechecki finished with a match high 13 kills and a .500 attack percentage, dishing out two more aces along the way.

Wiechecki averaged 3.22 kills, 3.56 digs, 1.11 aces and 4.50 points per set, leading the Wildcats to a perfect 9-0 week in sets played. Wilmington swept all three contests in the CACC this week.

Dominican freshman Tori Dexter was named the CACC Rookie of the Week, leading the Chargers to a 3-0 mark last week. She hit .291 (35-10-86) over the three matches and notched 29 digs, four blocks and four aces. She helped raised Dominican's record to 16-7 overall and 12-0 in the CACC, leading the North Division. The Chargers are also currently carrying a 10-match win streak.

Sitting atop the CACC South Division, the Wildcats will put their perfect conference record and 10-match winning streak on the line three more times this week. The Wildcats head to second place Philadelphia on Wednesday before traveling to Chestnut Hill on Friday. The team rounds out the week with a home match against Caldwell on Saturday. Wednesday's match at Philadelphia is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
