Elly Collins and Brice Hansen Named CACC Volleyball Players of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - A 1-0 week led to a pair of Wilmington University volleyball student-athletes earning Central Collegiate Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Brice Hansen (Lyman, Wyoming) has been named CACC Rookie of the Week for the third time, while Elly Collins (Tarpon Springs, Florida) was named the Defensive Player of the Week for the third time as well.

The duo led the Wildcats to a 3-0 win over Holy Family last Tuesday, November 1 to help secure a No. 3 spot in the CACC Tournament Quarterfinal.

Brice Hansen recorded eight kills and added 11 digs against Holy Family. Hansen's 11 digs mark the 15th time this season Hansen has been able to record double-digit digs. Hansen finished her freshman regular season campaign in 14th overall in the CACC in kills with 257. Hansen finished 18th in digs amongst the CACC with 275.

Elly Collins again set the tone on the defensive side as Collins recorded 22 out of the team total 66 digs. Collins finished off her regular season junior campaign leading the CACC in digs with 508. The next closest is 55 digs away at 453. Collin's 508 digs give her 4.66 digs per set, which is second in the CACC overall.

The Wildcats face off against No. 2 Bridgeport on Monday, November 7 at the University of Bridgeport. The winner will advance to the CACC Semi-Finals on Saturday, November 12 at Holy Family University.
