NEW HAVEN, Del. - - For the fourth week in a row, Wilmington University women's cross country standout Althea Davidson has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Runner of the Week, while freshman Jesus Amezquita was named the Men's Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

After not having earned the CACC Runner of the Week prior to this season, Davidson (New Castle, Del./William Penn) has taken over the conference weekly honors, winning it every week since being named for the first time on September 12. For Amezquita (Stafford, Va./Mountain View), it is the third weekly honor of the season, being named CACC Rookie of the Week on back-to-back weeks on September 5 and September 12.

Davidson raced to a second place finish at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday morning, setting a new personal record and a new program record in the 6k event in a time of 21:55.

Amezquita also set a new personal record, racing to an 11th place finish overall at the Don Cathcart Invitational in the 8k event, finishing in 26:18. He helped the men's team win the event in convincing fashion, as the top five runners for the Wildcats placed in the top 12 overall.

With the win, the men moved up a spot in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East Region Rankings, claiming the seventh position this week. The Wildcats are ahead of Felician and Philadelphia as the only CACC schools to be in the rankings. Wilmington trails six Northeast-10 schools in the East Region, with the lone East Coast Conference program, LIU Post, dropping out of the top 10.

The Wildcats have a short week as both squads prepare for their final regular season meet on Friday as they run on their home course at Carousel Park in the Goldey-Beacom Fall Classic. The women start at 5:00 p.m. while the run kick start at 5:35 p.m.
