The Wilmington University Compliance Office is charged with ensuring that there is full institutional control in all activities directly and indirectly associated with Wilmington Athletics. This office ensures that the Athletics Department operates in accordance with the rules and regulations as set forth by the NCAA, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and Wilmington University on a daily basis.
It is the mission of the compliance office to monitor all aspects of compliance in an effort to prevent even minor infractions. In the case of a by-law violation, the compliance office will aim to identify, evaluate, and report the violation to the Conference office and the NCAA.
Wilmington University uses the concespt of "shared responsibility" for its athletics compliance program. Individuals with the athletic department work with staff members from other offices within the University to ensure adherence to NCAA Division II rules and regulations in regards to athletic compliance.
