Golf Finishes 11th Overall at Post Eagles Invitational

WATERTOWN, Conn. - - Returning to Watertown Golf Club for the second week in a row, the Wilmington University golf team finished 11th overall at the Post Eagles Invitational, shooting rounds of 309-302-311 for a 922 (+70) on Monday and Tuesday.

Atlantic Region foe Indiana (Pa.) won the tournament with an 857 (+5) while Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference counterpart Dominican finished second overall with an 865 (+13). St. Thomas Aquinas placed third overall with an 877 (+25) while the host Eagles finished fourth with an 882 (+25).

Pablo Quintero led the Wildcats with a three-round score of 224 (+11), finishing in a tie for 29th overall. He posted rounds of 76-72-76 on the par-71 course.

Tyler Cleaves finished in a tie for 44th overall with a three-round score of 231 (+18). Cleaves posted rounds of 78-78-75 this week.

Jan Lekes completed his three rounds to finish in a tie for 56th overall, finishing with rounds of 75-81-78 for a 234 (+21).

Matthew Pulgini tied for 62nd overall on Tuesday, posting rounds of 80-74-82 for a 236 (+23) while Sacha Brown rounded out the Wildcats team scoring in 70th place overall, shooting rounds of 81-78-85 for a 244 (+31).

Playing as an individual, Ryan Heenan finished 72nd overall with rounds of 80-84-84 for a 248 (+35).

Assumption's Sean Magarian earned individual honors by being one of three student-athletes finishing sub-par, posting rounds of 71-67-70 for a 208 (-5). Dominican's Bruno Pardo finished second with a 211 (-2), while St. Thomas Aquinas Nolan Skaggs finished with a 212 (-1) for third.

The Wildcats round out their fall schedule at the Citrus Intercollegiate Invitational later this month. They will head to the Sunshine State with rounds on October 30 and 31.
