NEWARK, Del. – Less than a minute into the game, freshman Emily Navarette scored the first goal and set the tone for Homecoming in the Wilmington University women's soccer team's 8-1 win over Concordia Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

Navarette scored her third goal of the season in just 53 seconds off a pass from Alex Keck in Saturday's Homecoming game. Wilmington would have seven more shots, before Jasmine Brake broke away from her defender and found the back of the net to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute for her first collegiate career goal. Four minutes later, Cassidy McErlain got a shot off from 25 yards out to just sneak under the crossbar and into the goal for WilmU's third goal of the half.

Concordia would score in the 40th minute to make it a 3-1 game before halftime, but Jasmine Brake was there a minute later to give the Wildcats back the three goal lead.

The Wildcats would go on and score four unanswered goals in the second half, including Navarette's second goal of the game and Allison Hartwyk's first goal of her career.

Wilmington had 31 shots with 19 on goal to Concordia's three shots on goal.

Up next, the Wildcats will travel to Jefferson on Tuesday to take on the Rams for a 4 p.m. matchup, before traveling to Post University on Saturday, October 6th for a 12 p.m. start.
