NEWARK, Del. - - For the first time since 2016, the Wilmington University women's soccer team got the better of Georgian Court, capturing the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

It is also the first time since the 2021 season that the Wildcats (9-4-2, 6-2-1 CACC) have put four goals on the board against the Lions. The Wildcats put two in the net in the first half and two more early in the second half to put the nail in the coffin.

Krysta Memis opened the scoring in the 11th minute, getting a perfected weighted ball from Jimena Garcia Risoto down the middle and into the box. Memis toe-poked the ball past the keeper for her fifth goal of the season and the 1-0 lead.

Holding her run until the final moment to stay on-sides, Jimena Garcia Risoto added a goal to her resume on Thursday, flicking a pass from Manuela Restrepo over the top of the drawn out goalkeeper in the 20th minute to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.

The Wildcats turned up the pressure to start the second half, and Lauren Hoelke put the game out of reach just six minutes into the second half.

After a free kick, Emily Navarrete tracked down the ball on the far endline. She turned back and played another cross into the front of the net, finding a wide-open Lauren Hoelke on the back post for the easy tap in goal at the 50:07 mark of the contest.

Hoelke then put the game away in the 52nd minute, scoring her second of the game and sixth of the season off a feed from Jimena Garcia Risoto. Garcia Risoto played a ball out to her right and Hoelke popped it up over her defender and into the box. She then buried her shot for the 4-0 lead with 39:38 to play in regulation.

Georgian Court did not get a shot off in the second half, as the Wildcats outshot the Lions, 19-4, for the match. They also earned more corners, 4-2, in the contest. Emily Camp made two first half saves and turned it over to Mio Nakajima for the final 32:45, as the duo helped secure the team's eighth shutout of the year.

The Wildcats have two regular season contests remaining and sit in fourth place in the CACC Standings. The Wildcats are looking to remain in the top four spots of the standings and host a CACC Tournament First Round game.

Their final road game of the regular season is this weekend at Caldwell, with the game being pushed to Sunday afternoon at Kiwanis Oval. Sunday's game is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.
