Men's Basketball vs Philadelphia
The Wilmington University men's basketball team held off a hard charging Philadelphia team in the second half, claiming a 70-64 victory in the team's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener on Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex. The Wildcats got out to a 14-point lead in the second half, but the Rams wouldn't go away and clawed all the back to within a single point with 2:12 left in regulation. Omari Dill-Pettiford hit a baseline jumper to give the Wildcats some breathing room and the Rams couldn't find the bottom of the net for the rest of the game. Nick Richards led the Wildcats with 17 points and nine rebounds while Tyaire Ponzo-Meek came off the bench to score 17 points as well. Brian Adkins scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Taj Almon also finished with 11 points and seven rebound but added three blocked shots. Copyright 2016; Wilmington University.
