NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Fifty-nine (59) student-athletes on Tuesday were named to the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Nine of the 10 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution (both academically and athletically).
The Wilmington University baseball team placed five student-athletes on the 2024 CACC All-Academic Team, led by two-time honoree Alex Krick. He is joined by Scott Borgmann, Zack Czarnecki, Steven Mann and Tyler Pirrung who all made the list for the first time in their careers.
CACC Champion Post University led the way with 13 honorees to make the All-Academic Team.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
- Two student-athletes, University of Bridgeport's Justin Nyarady and Post University's Noah Connor, were the two student-athletes on the list to post perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages.
- Six student-athletes posted GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
- Goldey-Beacom College's Justin Jump and Post's Joe Christiana and Noah Connor were the three student-athletes on the team to make the squad for the fourth time.
- Three other student-athletes -- GBC's Kyle Walker, Thomas Jefferson University's Samuel Bass and Anthony Pillari -- were named to the unit for the third time in their respective careers.
- Fifteen (15) were named to the team for the second time in their respective careers.
- The six teams to qualify for the CACC playoffs combined to have 43 student-athletes earn All-Academic status.
