NEWARK, Del. - - The inaugural game held at the new Wilmington University Athletics Complex did not go in the favor of the women's soccer team, as the Wildcats dropped their home-opener, 4-1, to Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon.

Wilmington (0-2) turned up the pressure in the second half, but it was too little too late as Le Moyne (1-0) opened its 2012 season with a four goal effort.

Chelsea Grace scored her first career goal as a Wildcat in the 77th minute, but a bulk of the teams' shots were off frame on the afternoon, taking 11 shots total for the match. Grace's goal came as she bent a corner kick directly into the goal, beating Dolphins' substitute goalkeeper Kayla Werthmann for the lone goal.

Le Moyne got on the board first with a pair of goals in the first half, with the majority of the offensive possession on the feet of the Dolphins. Christie Morano opened the game with a goal in the fifth minute, getting a deflection on a clearing attempt by Wilmington goalkeeper Amanda Walters and putting the shot home high and to the right to make it 1-0 only 4:29 into the contest.

The Dolphins' Lindsey Bakal added to the lead in the 34th minute as she took a loose ball at the top of the 18-yard box, pushed it to her left foot and let one fly from 16-yards out to the back of the net.

The Wildcats responded with an equal amount of shots and a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks in the second half, but again it was Le Moyne who got on the board first in the second frame.

Gabriele Ariola made it a three goal lead as she received a pass from Morano in the left side of the pentaly box and Ariola was able to beat Walters from 12 yards out 51:23 into the game. Morano capped the scoring for the Dolphins with her second goal of the game as she went in on Walters 1-on-1 after a through pass down the middle by Kate Deasy in the 55th minute.

Walters made two stops in goal for the Wildcats while playing all 90 minutes and the Dolphins' Tori Corsaro picked up the victory in goal with two saves as well. Werthmann came on and played the final 23:05 for Le Moyne, making one stop.

Grace led the Wildcats with three goals off the bench, while Vikki Zipf and Brittany Rhodes added two shots each. Le Moyne outshot the Wildcats, 14-11, on the day.
