 NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's soccer team had a three game winning streak snapped as West Chester handed the Wildcats a 7-0 defeat in nonconference action at the WU Athletics Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

The Wildcats (5-4) are now 0-3 against nonconference opponents as the Golden Rams (8-3) won their lone nonconference contest of the 2015 season.

West Chester got on the board early in the first half, as Scarlett Walsh put the visitors on top, 1-0, in the 12^th minute. It was the first of three goals on the afternoon for the junior.

The best chance for the Wildcats came when the score was 1-0, as senior Kellie MacIntosh's shot beat Golden Ram goalkeeper Alex Srolis, but found the far post and stayed out. Loran Wyrough's follow up shot was challenged and forced wide of the goal as well.

The rest of the first was all West Chester, as they out shot the Wildcats, 5-2, and had all the scoring chances. Walsh scored her second goal of the game on a header in the 38^th minute, getting on the end of a Sara Bennis corner. Walsh completed her first half hat trick in the 45^th minute, converting a Wilmington turnover into a shot from 15 yards out with 47 seconds left in the half.

Out of the break, the Golden Rams continued to hold possession and eventually found the back of the net in the 58^th minute. West Chester's Marissa Valenti found herself one-on-one with Kierstyn Williams and Valenti was able to beat Williams to make it 4-0.

Back-to-back goals in the 73^rd and 76^th minutes gave the Golden Rams a 6-0 lead with goals from Lexi Brown and Cynthia Hagerty. Brown finished off the scoring with her second of the contest for the Golden Rams in the 84^th minute.

West Chester out shot the Wildcats, 21-9, for the match, while also earning more corners, 5-0, for the match. Williams made 11 saves for the Wildcats while Golden Ram starter Srolis recorded one save before giving way to Madi Mitchell in the 76^th minute. Mitchell also made one save for the combined shutout. 

The Wildcats remain out of conference for their next contest, as they take to the road for the rest of the week. The Wildcats will head to Bridgeport on Thursday for a 6:00 p.m. start.
