Women’s Soccer Slips to No. 5 in Latest United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - Following its first loss of the season, the Wilmington University women's soccer team slipped to No. 5 in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll.

The Wildcats came up with a tie against Jefferson during the midweek and are now 5-1-3 overall, 2-0-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.

Wilmington dropped three spots to No. 5 this week while the team that defeated the Wildcats, Mercy, jumped into the Wildcats' spot at No. 2. Jefferson continues to lead the East Region with this week's tie against Wilmington going into effect for next week's poll.

Following Jefferson and Mercy, Franklin Pierce moved up two spots to No. 3 this week. Saint Anselm moved up four spots to No. 4 while Adelphi dropped with Wilmington, moving three spots to No. 6. Molloy remains at No. 7 followed by Assumption, Saint Michael's, and Caldwell.

The Wildcats are home this weekend for another CACC contest, hosting Lincoln (Pa.) at the WU Athletics Complex. The opening kick is set for 12:00 p.m.
