Wilmington Baseball Game Against Bridgeport Postponed; Wildcats Remain Top Seed in NCAA East Region Poll

NEW CASTLE, Del. - - The regular season has come to a close for the Wilmington University baseball team as its final two games have been halted by weather, with today's nonconference contest against Bridgeport at Wilson Field the latest victim.

There is no makeup date announced for the two programs yet, but the teams will attempt to find a date if one becomes available this weekend.

The Wildcats finish the regular season 32-7-1 overall and 17-3 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, capturing the CACC Regular Season Championship and earning the CACC Tournament's top seed.

The Wildcats also remained the top seed in the latest NCAA East Region Poll, comprised by a regional committee and used to determine who will compete in the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament.

The CACC Tournament begins May 8 with a champion being crowned on May 10. The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for May 11 at 10 p.m.
